Collection contains letters from Woodard to his friend, Genie Smith. They were written on Camp Randall, Madison, Wis. stationery. He describes the uncomfortable aspects of army life but tries to keep the cause in mind. His homesickness is apparent as well as his romantic interest in Genie although he understands that she is to marry "Jim."
